RTW Snooping and Stuff

Awhile ago I was in the store and saw these two tops and really, really, really wanted them.

This one did what woven blouses do on the full-busted! :)

Look at that pulling!!!! But I liked the style and that front yoke and started rifling through the pattern collection for a similar option. I realllly wanted to buy it and just commit to wearing it with a cami but decided not to.

This one was just overall Too. Small.

Well, it fit well through the shoulders and neck! Yep. Just as if I were to make a tunic I'd need the measurements of a 14 neck/shoulders, a 16 bust and waist and an 18 hip.

Those lines, that's my butt making the fabric it's own! The sleeves are too tight as is the bust. I *know* I have a pattern that can be tweaked to become this tunic!

Today I found myself in Target and surprise! all sweaters were Buy one, get one half off. I need sweaters!!!

I bought these two, figuring grey and this heathered plum (I love jewel tones) would be great additions to the wardrobe.

And then I scored this sweatshirt for $6! And that red/blue striped "Breton" top for $5!

I was going to use V9026 to make a sweatshirt like this! I wanted these exact colors and had been looking for a quilted ponte. YAY!

Now, those pants - oy.

The colored skinnies were $8. The green looked better than the rose but they were both so chocked full of lycra that they were encasing my legs. No bueno.

I do not like my jeans to be full of lycra. Do. Not. Like. That's one of the reasons I've not tried any of the popular jeans patterns because they all rely on stretch. I was very happy to see that the SA Sandra jean is for non-stretch wovens. I need to get them muslined and hope to crank out a pair of jeans in December yet.

I have a lot to say about me and tops but I've started a 2014 wrap up and will leave it for that post.

RTW knit tops (cardigans, sweaters, etc) fit me really well while wovens tend to leave much to be desired.

I seem to have an easier time getting my me-made woven tops to fit well than knit tops. Is that odd or what?!? Maybe because I don't expect  to have to fit my knits much?? I dunno.

I hope to finish my V9032s in denim today or tomorrow - they're gonna be cute with that striped top!!!
