New McCall's! And Other's...

I'm surprised I haven't seen many reviews of this latest release. Mostly because, it is AWESOME!!!!

And others??

Yeah, aside from costumes, the Simplicity release was pretty weak. And as per the usual, they are not up on their site yet. New Look's fall release is nearly entirely composed of re-released patterns. Some of them aren't even discontinued yet under their original number! Oy!

Simplicity patterns are up on Pattern Review. The only two I really liked were:

1018: A great knit dress

SO MUCH movement!

1012: A 60s vintage pattern

Honorable mention; 1016: The MimiG coat

I have an altered Lekala pattern that I bought and 'hacked' after deciding I liked the Papercut Watson, but not enough to spend that kind of money on it. Also, I prefer the Papercut capelet, how it is integrated into the seam at the front

Now let's get to the GOOD stuff!

7256 is a little too much for me but man that would make an awesome dress coat!

7262 is a Khaliah Ali pattern. Very cute. And it reminds me of my Burda coat with the crazy sleeve!

7242 looks awesome! I doubt I will make a fall maxi dress but it's gorgeous

7244 works without looking too young. There was another McCall's where it looked a bit too "ruffly" on the bottom. This is subtle...

7240: LOVE.

7241 I don't normally do a dropped waist but this one with the pleating is calling me. Plus it has cup sizing!!!!

7242; I like.

7245: I don't love their fabric choice and the sleeves are a bit much for everyday. But I am loving this dress. The little inset at front? Swoon.

7259: Drama in a good way!

7258: I had a pouty moment when I saw this was only in plus sizes.

7254?! ALL the yeses!!!!

7247 has had several similar-looking predecessors...

7251 I almost missed due to hideous fabric. This top is pretty awesome.

I predict 7249 being popular

7261; I don't even sew activewear but this pattern makes me want to!!!

Fall Vogues and More

I'll start by saying, my Hancock had them in stock and I only bought one, V9132.

I love this for a fall skirt! I might try to color block, we'll see. The finished length is 19" so I will add a couple inches. The 19" length could work with tights once the weather cools way down.

Other patterns I liked, but not enough to add to the 500+ collection:

V1466; the jacket didn't move me but that skirt! It looks like it would have so much life.

V1465; the pieces are interesting; I just don't think I need them.

V9136; super cute. This one may make it in at some point.

V1460; Beautiful. For the right body type...

V1463: again, gorgeous details but...I'll pass for now.

V1464: SAILOR PANTS! With BUTT PRINCESS SEAMS!!!

V1467; I love this jacket but helloooooo! I know McCall Co could have done something about the blingy buttons.

And then...

1458 is a hard no for me. Too many details to the point of looking ridiculous.

1457 had my interest until I looked closer...

Meh.

9124: WHY?

9128: I don't know about those seams on a full bust...

So yeah, kind of a middle-of-the-road release for me.

I am still needing to hem my V8805 dress (tomorrow?)  But of course I've since started a new project:

I've placed a couple of FM orders recently and for now, this stack of fabric has my attention:

1&2) Cotton shirting for B6183
3) rayon challis (pattern undertermined)
4&5) Cotton shirting for Burda 7136

That's the plan at least!

Early Fall Patterns: Simplicity and McCall's

So the other day I really did a hard purge and removed 62 patterns from the collection but now, more will be added. Oh yes, they will.

McCall's:

Must haves:

7186 is a fantastic work dress!

7199 stopped me in my tracks! YES. YES. YES!!!

7193: I wished this had cup sizing...but I think it's worth doing an FBA!

Patterns that I really like but probably won't add (unless I see them made up and fall in love!)

7185; a fun dress pattern

7189: Another great dress

7187: Really like this one but I don't think I can do that dropped waist

7204: I really like this but tend to shy away from long full cardigans like this (too short and thick!)

7192: Another cute top

7194: A strong contender, but I'd probably have to see it made up.
Those angled hems are kind of meh.

I NEVER look at costumes but is she a total babe or what!?!?

********

I've already added a few Simplicity's to the pattern collection:

I already have fabric out to make view C. I don't care for the back drape on the other view

I just cannot give up on the raglan! And with these great panels! Swoon!

A sack dress but with a wide sash. I think I may love this.
We will see!

Does this awesome fall jacket need any words? I think not.

Totally sucked in by the pattern pic. We will see if I actually sew it

Was going to pass on this one until I saw cup sizing.
Cup sizing will get me nearly every time.

I considered this one but decided I probably wouldn't actually make it.

So any new patterns for you??
