New McCall's! And Other's...

I'm surprised I haven't seen many reviews of this latest release. Mostly because, it is AWESOME!!!!

And others??

Yeah, aside from costumes, the Simplicity release was pretty weak. And as per the usual, they are not up on their site yet. New Look's fall release is nearly entirely composed of re-released patterns. Some of them aren't even discontinued yet under their original number! Oy!

Simplicity patterns are up on Pattern Review. The only two I really liked were:

1018: A great knit dress

SO MUCH movement!

1012: A 60s vintage pattern

Honorable mention; 1016: The MimiG coat

I have an altered Lekala pattern that I bought and 'hacked' after deciding I liked the Papercut Watson, but not enough to spend that kind of money on it. Also, I prefer the Papercut capelet, how it is integrated into the seam at the front

Now let's get to the GOOD stuff!

7256 is a little too much for me but man that would make an awesome dress coat!

7262 is a Khaliah Ali pattern. Very cute. And it reminds me of my Burda coat with the crazy sleeve!

7242 looks awesome! I doubt I will make a fall maxi dress but it's gorgeous

7244 works without looking too young. There was another McCall's where it looked a bit too "ruffly" on the bottom. This is subtle...

7240: LOVE.

7241 I don't normally do a dropped waist but this one with the pleating is calling me. Plus it has cup sizing!!!!

7242; I like.

7245: I don't love their fabric choice and the sleeves are a bit much for everyday. But I am loving this dress. The little inset at front? Swoon.

7259: Drama in a good way!

7258: I had a pouty moment when I saw this was only in plus sizes.

7254?! ALL the yeses!!!!

7247 has had several similar-looking predecessors...

7251 I almost missed due to hideous fabric. This top is pretty awesome.

I predict 7249 being popular

7261; I don't even sew activewear but this pattern makes me want to!!!

Spring McCall's are here!!

Already?!!? WOW!

HERE

They have a new model and she is giving me LIFE!!!

There are tons of sweet dresses that I do not need; these two stand out for me

7088:

7081:

7082: I'm buying this for DD. This is a perfect dress for a young lady. She will need this dress at some point. I love the colorblocking options.

7099: I know many are anti jumpsuit but I still love the IDEA of a really classy one. And I like this one! I think the tapered leg with wrap front is perfect!

But not the shorts version

7100: I couldn't sew up any of the extra voluminous Burda baseball jackets and there's nothing about the Riegel bomber that makes me want to pay $30+ for it so this may be a win

7093: LOVE FEST

7098: Nice options for shorts, capris, cropped pants...

Uncertain about the split leg trousers. I tried to like them when Burda did them and here comes McCall's nearly 2.5 years later...Eh.

Burda 08/2012 #129

I hope these hit the store soon because I am trying to go on a pattern fast. HAHAHAHA!!!! :)

New McCall's Patterns!!!

Truly, genuinely excited about this one!!!  Winter collection

Squeeeeee!

Pretty sassy 7053...

I have a thing for waistcoats 7056

This is SO similar to a sweater I stole from Dougie. This is meant for wools but would make up in a thick knit quite well I'm sure!! 7058

THIS!!! I need this jacket/cardigan. NEED it! 7055

And I need this skirt. Like, really badly please. 7054

I want to like the dresses but I don't. Yet. Someone like Adrienne or Erica will make it and it'll be fabulous. But I LOVE this top. I mean LOOK AT IT!!! 7046

What?? I do need this. I need nightshirts! I have cute fabric in animal print and penguins waiting to become nightshirts!!!

Wait, I take back re: the gowns... 7047 is nice but the fabrics are so disturbing...

Plus SUPER cute tween patterns:

Disclaimer: I despise those ruffled leggings

New Patterns

Of course, lots of dresses here...and I feel the same about this release as the Vogue. Gorgeous offerings; dresses are awesome; dresses are not conducive to my everyday life, I am less enthused about them :)

But there are 3 patterns on my must have list
M6961M6961
This top is EVERYTHING. Swoooooon! The view with flutter sleeves isn't quite for me but still, SO feminine and pretty!

M6956
Ok, yes it IS a dress...but it's a SWEETHEART dress with a fit & flare and...yeah! :)

 Line ArtM6969

Ok jumpsuits seem to be love 'em or hate 'em but...I like the pants versions. Especially this view, belted.

I also like:
Line Art
Nice options here

Line Art
A solid basic (and it's a Palmer Pletsch!)

Line Art
I hate this on the model; the top is oversized but the skirt is cute...I bet the shorts would be too.

There are some cute kids patterns (or rather girls patterns), a rather sad men's offering, and some crafts. Oh, there's a bag pattern too!
